Guest Speaker Mike Mueller Tomorrow!

Hey all,

Just a reminder, guest speaker Mike Mueller (see his website here) will be speaking on the use of social networking tools, such as LinkedIn as an outlet to market yourself in a professional and effective manner. Today, it is really all about who you know in the business world, and SAM and LBSA is presenting a series of events in order to give you all exposure. Come out and learn this valuable skill! LBSA Do’s & Dont’s of Networking Workshop

March is shaping up to be a busy month! I want to thank everyone who has come out to all of our events, as well as the events other organizations have invited us to. With that said, LBSA has extended another invitation to one of their events, this Wednesday, March 10th. See the description and flyer below. All of our members are encouraged and welcome to stop by and learn!

Do's and Dont's of Networking Ever wonder what Networking is? Curious to know how to network? Come and learn the Do’s and Dont’s about networking. We are having two networking gurus come in and tell you how to network effectively. In todays world, it is who you know that matters.

Over 70% of people got their job in 2009 in part due to effective networking.

SAM & LBSA Etiquette Dinner


Hello everyone!

SAM and LBSA are proud to announce an upcoming etiquette dinner showcasing the leading etiquette consultant Sharyn Kennedy Amoroso. Come and learn or polish your table manners and dining skills at Il Fornaio Restaurant in Downtown San Jose.

You are all invited to join us on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 6PM. The etiquette dinner will cost $35 per person (covers cost of speaker, venue and food), and in order to reserve your spot, must be paid by Wednesday, March 17th.

Sorry this update is a little late, busy night! Anyway, I just wanted to remind everyone to check the Events page as 2 new events have been posted. They are:

Seagate Special Event: Tuesday, May 6th, 9pm

Seagate company speaking at San Jose State University Society for Management and Entreprenurial SocietySAM, in association with the Entrepreneurial Society (ES) is holding a special speaker event. Chris Zephro from Seagate will be speaking on Throughput Decision Support: A Better Alternative to Cost Accounting.

The event is at a special time and place: Tuesday May 6th at 9pm in BBC 004 (downstairs Boccardo Business building).

Cisco is a corporate partner with SAM SJSUAlso – as if it’s tech week or something! (it’s not by the way)  – don’t forget Cisco speaking at SAM on Wednesday afternoon at 4:30pm in BBC 004.

Cisco Speaker: May 7th

Cisco speaking at SAM San Jose StateThe Cisco meeting has been moved back a week so that our speaker can make the meeting due to a scheduling conflict that arose this last week. So, instead of April 23rd, Cisco will be speaking at our usual time and place – BBC 003 at 4:30pm on May 7th. Be sure to come by to learn more about what this dynamic Silicon Valley powerhouse has to share, including career opportunities, new business opportunities that they are creating and going after, as well as some of the challenges that face technology-company managers in their day-to-day lives.

This is the last SAM meeting of the semester so come on out, socialize, and set up some plans for summer!
