SAM will be having a movie fundraiser for, “In Time” on November 10th 2011. The movie tickets will be for sale at $7 each. Please come join us with your friends and family on this great Thursday night. You will be getting a discount on a great film!

Welcome back to school! Summer definitely flew by for me, but it’s now time to get back into study mode

SAM will start tabling in front of BBC starting tomorrow, Tuesday, August 30th at 8:30am. Please come see what we have to offer for you.

Students are encouraged to RSVP for our first general meeting on Monday, September 12th @ 5:30pm in the Ohlone Room at the Student Union. There will be free food and drinks!

Hi Sam members,

SAM would just like to thank everybody for their interest and support. SAM is a small organization thriving to provide students with the strongest and most useful information. As time progresses, SAM hopes to progress into becoming a bigger and better organization.

Next semesters schedule should be ready within the next couple of months and will be updated to the website calendar under the EVENTS tab. In addition, photos has been added from the Etiquette Dinner.

As the summer is getting closer, SAM would like to wish everybody good luck on their finals and of course ENJOY YOUR SUMMER! See you all in August!

MS Bake Sale & Etiquette Dinner

First off, I would just like to thank everybody for the successful help at the MS Bake Sale. We made a very generous amount to donate. In addition, I would like to thank Melissa and Kallie with their expert baking skills. Right when it was put for sale, it sold out almost instantly!

Second, The Etiquette Dinner is scheduled next week one week from today at the Flames Restaurant in a private room. There will be a $20 fee per attendee. Please contact Sterling at, sgxc12_89@msn.com regarding the fee. There is an RSVP form set up, lease make sure everybody has completed this RSVP form.

This Week’s Events

On Tuesday, SJSU Career Center will be holding another fair. This fair will be a little smaller than the last one and will focus mostly for summer. There will be representatives from all sorts of companies looking for students to intern over the summer. The fair will be held in the Student Union Ball Room from 12-3pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2011.

“Currently registered SJSU students and Career Center alumni members are invited to meet in-person with employers recruiting for their career and internship positions. Open to all majors. Dress is professional and preparation is important, attend a Job Fair Success Workshop to increase your marketability! Be sure to check SpartaJobs toward the end of March for a detailed list of attending employers.” – SJSU Career Center

The following day, we will be having our Alumni Panel. Several alumni’s which have graduated last year, will be returning to give students some advice and speak about their experiences after graduation. All the almuni’s are now working at big companies such as Cisco, Polycom and Juniper Networks. This is a great opportunity to come and ask any kind of career questions you may have or to build your network! Alumni’s will also be there to talk one-to-one for more personal questions and advices.

On Friday, one of the biggest social event is scheduled. A major collaboration with all the business associations and major companies from Google, HP, Apple, Intel and Intuit will be at the event. We strongly encourage members to come. This is a great opportunity to get connections from major companies and meet other business students. Students must dress business casual. Appetizers will be provided. SAM has paid all fees, so this will be a FREE event for members.

Hi Sam Members,

The the past two days, we’ve had a few events, the Sonoma Chicken Scoop and a guest speaker from Hyatt. I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank everybody who came out to Sonoma and support us with our fundraiser.

I would also like to thank those who came out to listen to Vasuki. I hope you learned and got some useful information from the guest speaker today. For those who were not able to make it Vasuki gave out a few useful information such as the job search website for hyatt which is “http://hyatt.jobs”

SJSU Job Fair Expo & Updates

Hi Sam Members,

Glad to see those faces at the Resume Workshop today. Hope everybody learned a lot from the workshop today.

This is just a short reminder about the upcoming job fair held at SJSU next Wednesday from 12pm to 5pm at the Event Center. The job fair is a great opportunity to get your name out there and possibly find that intern you have been looking for the summer.

In addition, we have added another guest speaker onto our events page. Nora Denzl will be telling her experience on climbing the corporate ladder. What to do, and what not to do. The guest speaker will be opened to all business organizations which makes this is a great chance to meet other students in different business fields and connect with others.
